Enrico Letta on Jacques Delors Institute

Enrico Letta has held the role of President of the Jacques Delors Institute since 2016, having taken over from its founder, Jacques Delors. The Institute itself was established in 1996, originally named Notre Europe, with the core mission to foster reflection on the European project, the integration of peoples, and the dissemination of European values such as democracy and solidarity. He actively promotes the legacy and reflections of Jacques Delors, stating it is an honor to lead the organization that embodies the architect of united Europe's ideas, and he specifically recalls discussions with Delors.

Under his leadership, the Institute has expanded its focus, notably through the initiation of the Académie Notre Europe in 2017, which targets young people aged 16 to 30 with training on European citizenship. Furthermore, he is the author of the high-level report, Much More than a Market, presented in April 2024, which stems directly from the Institute's analytical work concerning the future of the European single market. He champions the twin missions of the Institute: producing analysis for decision-makers and informing public debate while promoting citizen engagement.
