Mahmoud Abbas on Two State Solution

Mahmoud Abbas, President of the State of Palestine, maintains that the internationally supported two-state solution on 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, remains the only viable path to a just and comprehensive peace. While condemning the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack as not representing the Palestinian people, he insists that peace cannot be achieved without justice, which requires ending the occupation and securing Palestinian freedom and independence.
